STANK FARM - CLEARWELL, FOREST OF DEAN
The Royal Forest of Dean is bordered by the river Severn & Wye and was once the
hunting ground of Kings. Clearwell is set in a gentle valley just a few minutes
away from the old market town or Coleford which was the hunters accommodation.
The centre of Clearwell village is dominated by a 14th Century stone cross and the
abundant clear water from the spring.
This is where Clearwell gets its name, meaning 'the spring amongst the clovers'.
